Over the last decade, processing methods that were only available to professionals have also become accessible for regular consumers. Many 3D printers can now be found on Amazon, some of them are inexpensive, others are better equipped and even come with lasers. The latter applies to the new Bambu Lab H2D, which can create and customize prints in different ways. It’s been listed at the manufacturer’s official online store for prices ranging between $1,999 and $2,899.
These model variants sport different modules and components with different use cases. For example, the regular H2D is a 3D printer that can handle various materials and filaments simultaneously. It’s a dual-extruder printer, which can be used with two different filaments, which can reduce costs since no cleaning or purging is necessary when switching between two materials.
The high-end version of this 3D printer also has some interesting laser features. It’s a closed system whose print chamber can be heated to 65 °C, which can be beneficial for print quality and make it easier to use certain filaments. The build volume differs depending on which features are being used. With two print nozzles, the build volume is 300 x 320 x 325 millimeters. The Bambu Lab H2D can also engrave and even cut thanks to a built-in laser with either 10 or 40 watts. According to the manufacturer, users can also look inside the 3D printer in order to prevent misprints and optimize their arrangements. Last but not least, this 3D printer can create flat as well as curved objects. When the laser is used for engraving or cutting, the device creates an airflow in order to cool the object.
