Anycubic has a new 3D printer in the pipeline. Capable of printing with different colours and materials, this model is an enclosed system designed to be especially easy to use.

Anycubic will soon release a new 3D printer. Although the company has already showcased the Kobra S1 Combo at a trade show, the product is only set to launch early next year – with 2 January being a likely date. Anycubic plans to share more information before Christmas, but relatively few questions remain open, such as pricing information.

The Kobra S1 Combo is essentially a 3D printer not unlike the Kobra 3 Max, but there are considerable differences in terms of its fundamental design. Unlike the Kobra 3 Max, the Kobra S1 is an enclosed 3D printer, meaning the printing area is protected from potentially disruptive air draughts, which can help improve print quality. However, the build chamber lacks active heating, relying solely on the heat emitted by the print head and heated print bed, which can reach up to 120°C (248°F). The build volume measures 250 x 250 x 250 mm (9.8 x 9.8 x 9.8 in).

Featuring multicolour support, the system is fundamentally comparable to the Kobra 3 Max. For instance, both printers are fitted with just one print head. During filament change, they need to first cut the filament in use, load another one, and extrude a certain amount of the new filament before the print process can proceed. The Kobra S1 Combo can be used with up to two ACE Pro units, with each one capable of storing four filament spools.
