The P2S from Bambu Lab is a new 3D printer that is now listed for a price of €519 in Europe, which means it's not necessarily an entry-level model. It’s also offered as the so-called P2S Combo, which includes a container for up to four filaments. This model then handles multi-filament printing in a single pass, but the filament must be cut since there is only one print head. The Bambu Lab P2S Combo is officially priced at €749, and the base version will become available starting in November. US prices are still pending.
A PMSM servo extruder is installed, while the print nozzle can be swapped out particularly quickly, according to the manufacturer. This should make it quite easy to use different nozzles. A camera is built-in and should be able to detect printing errors using AI. The system should further be able to automatically calibrate and specifically adjust the flow rate, which could positively influence the quality of prints.
The Bambu Lab P2S sports a 5-inch touchscreen with a customized user interface and clear visuals, which can be useful for identifying and narrowing down errors. Moreover, the printer weighs about 33 lbs and has as print volume of 256 x 256 x 256 mm, while the print nozzle can be heated up to 300°C and the print bed can be heated up to 110°C. This enclosed 3D printer also offers exhaust air filtration with activated carbon. A USB port is onboard, and the device can be connected via dual-band WiFi in order to access it via the corresponding smartphone app or regular programs on a laptop or desktop computer.
