Acer releases new 2-in-1 laptop with Snapdragon X2 Elite, 120Hz touchscreen, and 23 hours battery life

Acer has quietly opened preorders for its Swift Spin 14 AI laptop. The new 2-in-1 convertible was unveiled back in May, and it brings Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon X2 Elite platform to a compact 14-inch form factor. The laptop is now available to preorder in the US for $1,499.99, with shipping scheduled for August 16, 2026.

Specifically, the Swift Spin 14 AI features the Snapdragon X2 Elite (X2E-78-100) that we previously reviewed in the new Surface Pro convertible. It is the slowest variant in the Snapdragon X2 Elite lineup, offering a 12-core, 12-thread configuration with clock speeds of up to 4.0 GHz and an 80 TOPS NPU. Acer pairs the processor with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 512GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD.

As covered previously, the Swift Spin 14 AI features a 14-inch IPS touchscreen with a 1,920 x 1,200 resolution, up to 300 nits of brightness, and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display can be folded all the way back, essentially turning the laptop into a tablet. Acer also includes a stylus with support for 4,096 pressure levels and tilt detection.

For connectivity, the laptop offers Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, along with two USB4 ports, two USB-A ports, and an HDMI 2.1 port. Acer packs everything into an aluminum chassis measuring 16.5mm (0.65 inches) thick and weighing 1.34 kg (2.95 lb). Power comes from a 65Wh battery, which Acer claims can last up to 23 hours before recharging.

At $1,499.99, the Swift Spin 14 AI sits between the Asus Zenbook A14 (Notebookcheck review), which features the faster Snapdragon X2 Elite (X2E-88-100) for $1,349, and Microsoft's new Surface Laptop 8, which starts at $1,699 with the same Snapdragon X2 Elite (X2E-78-100) chip.
