Good stuff. Acer has equipped its brand new 17-inch laptop, with a striking fabric-like texture, a gaming-suitable engine, an SSD and decent input devices. Our test reveals whether the other components, as well as thermals and noise justify the very high price of the multimedia laptop that is most suitable as a desktop replacement.

All-rounder.Acer treats its brand new all-rounder to a powerful mid-range CPU and a gaming-suitable GPU. The battery life is basically satisfactory, but was better in the previous model.
Acer Aspire E5-573G-527A
The Acer Aspire series consists of mid-range laptops and the Aspire E5-573G-527A is not different. Its 15-inch display features a Full HD resolution (1080p). The slight difference of this model is that it features a better graphic card than previous models. The Windows 8.1 system can be upgraded to windows 10 for free. It has tons of storage space with 1 TB and 8 GB of RAM for smooth multitasking. 1 TB is enough for storing many documents and saving and retrieving movies and games is easy. The design with a aluminum brushed feeling, which is supposed to make this laptop look more high end, is the same as the predecessors'. It comes in three colors: black, white, and titanium. This laptop is very practical for daily usage and can be carried around easily, since it is lightweight with only 2.4 kg. Thanks to the Nvidia graphic card, users can play less demanding games at very high settings and demanding games at medium settings. It is almost unheard of to play high end games on entry-mid level laptops, but this Acer is up to the challenge.Specifications

Well. The E5-573G does deliver some punch for less than $500 (current price is $470). It’s the fastest for 3D/gaming under $500 and even $550 or as fast as others, if only new laptops are considered, but it costs less. It also comes with 1TB SSHD which is much better than the usual crappy 5400RPM 500-1000GB HDD. Add to that 8GB of RAM and a 802.11ac wifi card. This is currently unbeatable.

Acer Aspire E5-573G-75B3
The Acer Aspire E5-573G-75B3 is a budget laptop with fairly capable hardware specifications. Acer has certainly improved the look of the Aspire E series with a redesign. The overall finish is kept classy with a matte black look that is professional. The entire chassis feels solid in hand and there is a full-sized tile-style keyboard. The 15.6 inch Active Matrix TFT display has a Full HD resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio with good colors and contrast. Even the brightness levels are acceptable making it easier to work in bright environments. The Windows 8.1 system comes with an Intel Core i5-5200U dual core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz, 4 GB DDR3L RAM (max: 16GB), an NVIDIA GeForce 940M GPU with 2 GB VRAM and a 1 TB HDD. This setup makes the laptop a solid business companion with the ability to satisfy even basic gaming needs. Other features include a webcam, an HDMI out, a USB 2.0 port, two USB 3.0 ports, a VGA out and a comfortable off-center touchpad. Battery life on the Acer Aspire E5-573G-75B3 is satisfactory with a 4-cell Lithium-Ion pack rated at 2520 mAh while the entire system weighs around 2.4 kg.Specifications

Acer has taken their budget class Aspire E5 laptop design and upgraded a number of parts to provide an affordable and capable 15-inch laptop system. It does make a few compromises though to keep the costs down but most systems in the $700 to $800 price range have to. For instance, it offers a high resolution display but the quality of the panel is not the best.

The Acer Aspire E5 is a stylish notebook for price-conscious shoppers looking to get work done. Its battery is above average, and its solid display and speakers allow for enjoyable entertainment. Unfortunately, the E5 brought up the rear in key performance tests, including multitasking, and Acer should have included less bloatware.

Acer Aspire E5-772G-59AU
This Acer Aspire 17 Serie Model is essentially a similar to the Aspire 15 series with a bigger display. With matte 17.3 inch Full HD LCD display and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, this laptop provides good colors without the uninvited reflections on non-matte displays. Its wide-viewing angles also contribute to enjoyable visual experiences for users. It comes with a switchable graphics solution, whereas the frugal Intel HD Graphics 5500 adapter is suitable for standard operations like web browsing and writing documents and its NVIDIA GeForce 940M provides better gaming graphic performance. The latter is able to run most of the newer games at least on medium settings. However, this notebook is slightly bulkier than the Aspire 15 series at 2.8 kg as well as a dimension of 11.01" (28.19 cm) in length and 1.25" (3.18 cm) in thickness. Other than that, its casing and feel are alike its sibling with a plastic build and textile pattern finishing. This may not appeal to certain users due to its cheap-looking exterior, but it does provide additional grip, which is good for carrying around. Similarly, its keyboard comes with a numeric keypad and lacks a backlight for usage in dim environments. Powered with a decent Intel Broadwell i5-5200U dual core processor and 8 GB of RAM, users will find multitasking on non-demanding applications to be a breeze. Storage-wise, it comes with 1 TB hard drive with 8 GB SSD cache from Seagate. Its connectivity includes two USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports.Specifications

You'll have to weigh out your priorities when considering whether or not to pick up the Acer Aspire E15. On one hand, it features impressive hardware and performance for a reasonable price. On the other hand, nagging problems, like the viewing angle, are bound to become more annoying over time. Consider this budget notebook only if you don't intend to move it very much.

Quiet and cool. The Aspire does not have a whole lot of CPU performance, but it is completely sufficient for office tasks and web browsing. Advantages of the system are the low temperature development, the quiet operating noise and the good keyboard. It does not consume a lot of power, either.

Fade to white. Acer's entry-level E-series caters to users with more basic needs. The 15.6-inch notebook is a solid everyday performer held back by a less-than-stellar display panel and subpar battery life.
Acer Aspire E5-575G-54TU
There are a lot of competitions in the entry-level laptop segment these days. It is one of the biggest market for the laptop industry. The Acer Aspire E5-575G-54TU is a good example for that. Released by Acer under Aspire E series, it is built for students and home users to do basic computing tasks such as browsing and entertainment. The Acer Aspire E5-575G-54TU comes with an Intel Core i5-6200U processor, 8 GB of DDR4 RAM, an Intel HD Graphics 520 onboard graphics adapter and an Nvidia GeForce 940MX. The processor can be boosted to a clock speed of 2.8 GHz and the RAM can be expanded to a maximum of 32 GB. As for storage, it features hybrid hard drive storage system to achieve both faster boot up from the solid state disk and large storage size from the conventional hard disk drive. The solid state disk size is 96 GB and the hard disk drive size is 1000 GB, which gives a total storage capacity of 1096 GB. The inclusion of a normal hard disk is definitely sufficient enough for the average user’s media requirements. For display, the Acer Aspire E5-575G-54TU features a 15.6-inch Full HD 16:9 LED backlit display. The matte display has the advantage of less reflection under sunlight and does not capture fingerprints, which are ideal for outdoor usage. However, the colors displayed on matte display could look less vibrant compared to glossy displays. As for operating system, the Acer Aspire E5-575G-54TU runs on Windows 10 64-bit Home edition. The Acer Aspire E5-575G-54TU measures at 381.6 x 259 x 29.2 mm (W x D x H) and weighs at 2.4 kg (5.29 lbs). This is an average weight for laptops with 15.6-inch display. A 4-cell Li-Ion battery delivers up to 6 hours battery life. The Acer Aspire E5-575G-54TU has an 8x SuperMulti DL DVD burner built in. A DVD burner is less built in on newer laptops nowadays for slimmer and lighter build. This feature is convenient for users who need to play and burn discs on the go, such as students. Additionally, it has two integrated speakers and a 720p HD webcam built in with two microphones for users who need entertainment and video call on the go. As for networking, the laptop features Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and Ethernet LAN. For input/output connections, it comes with a headphone & microphone combo, an HDMI port, a VGA port, a USB 3.1 Type C port, two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port and an SD card reader. The Acer Aspire E5-575G-54TU is a very functional, reasonably priced laptop. It is perfect for students who need decent specs in a laptop that doesn’t leave a big hole in their pockets. Acer’s Aspire E15 (E5-575G) is an amazing all-rounder with few drawbacks – taking into account the price point, of course – because it delivers unmatched performance, decent and refreshing design and features usually found on a mid-range laptop. We’ve got a GDDR5-powered GeForce 940MX GPU suitable for light gaming, Core i5-6200U ultra-low voltage, yet powerful CPU, two DDR4-2133 compatible RAM slots, M.2 SATA SSD slot, which we tried and works with a 2280 standard stick, USB-C 3.1 for ultra-fast data transfer and perfectly good keyboard and touchpad. And all of this for just $550 as a starting price. What’s not to like, right?

Limited competitiveness. Despite some good approaches, an SSD and sufficient CPU performance, we cannot quite get accustomed to Acer's multimedia newcomer with an AMD basis. The engine does not work as efficiently and reliably as the Intel competition, and especially the subpar TN-panel display without any flexibility concerning viewing angles will most likely only suffice for undemanding users.

In conclusion, we can say that Acer Aspire E5-576G-36WC is a very good budget laptop which doesn’t stand out with powerful hardware and incorporated high-technology materials in its construction, however, it can handle your everyday tasks. The notebook is to a huge extent a combination between budget hardware and compromise solutions as far are the quality of the built materials is concerned. On the other hand, Acer’s engineers have achieved a relatively low and affordable price.

The Acer Aspire E 15 is a stellar sub-$500 laptop option. Sure, it's bulky, and doesn't have the most exciting design or display, but it's a solid performer, with a good keyboard and a great battery life. But is the Aspire E 15 the best option in its price range? Well, it's at least one of them. If you're looking for the best laptop you can get under $500, then it's also worth considering the Acer Aspire 5, which offers a slightly sleeker design and a better display. However, the Aspire 5 doesn't quite match the performance of the Aspire E 15 and does away with DVD drive, if that's important to you. That said, if your budget is under $500, you can't go wrong with the Aspire E 15.

The Aspire E 15 E5-576-392H gives you solid performance, long battery life and a good range of ports for less than $400. It does have a few notable shortcomings, including a dull display and a bulky, bland design. But these don't detract too much from the overall package.

The Acer Aspire E15 (E5-576-392H) is a bargain laptop that delivers solid productivity performance. Given its low price, mainstream users may be willing to overlook the laptop’s extra weight, so-so display and lack of keyboard backlighting. But if you have any high-demand applications (or a bit of a gaming bug), it would be better to consider one of its pricier cousins.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.

14.00:
14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
1.85 kg:
3.3 kg:
A laptop with this weight is comparatively heavy and less designed for mobility than for use at the desk. Therefore, the devices tend to shine less with battery life than with a large screen and higher performance.
77.44%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
