Abxylute launches S8 Lite USB-C telescopic controller for smartphones and tablets

Almost exactly a year since the launch of the Abxylute S8 wireless game controller, Abxylute has followed it up with a more affordable version. The new controller is called the Abxylute S8 Lite, and to achieve its lower price tag, it drops support for wireless connectivity.
The Abxylute S8 Lite is a telescopic controller that connects to supported devices via a USB-C connector on the right. The switch to a USB connection means the S8 Lite is not compatible with the Nintendo Switch/Switch 2, unlike the S8 wireless which has Bluetooth and works with Nintendo's handhelds. The new controller is made for smartphones and tablets running Android or iOS with a USB-C port and a maximum length of 216 mm.
The S8 Lite has asymmetrical Hall Effect sticks, ABXY buttons in an Xbox layout, a swappable D-pad (cross and circular D-pads included), macro mode, and a turbo mode. It also has Hall Effect linear triggers, two customizable back buttons, and textured full-size grips.
There's also a USB-C port for passthrough charging. In addition, owners will be able to adjust features such as joystick sensitivity and input modes, and remap buttons using the ABXY game app.
The Abxylute S8 Lite controller is available to buy now for $39.99 and it comes in a single black color. The Abxylute S8 wireless controller sold for $59.99 when it launched, but it can be purchased now for $42.99 from the manufacturer's website or $45.99 from Amazon.
