A Best Buy leak may reveal US pricing for the RTX 3070-powered HP Omen 15
The next-gen HP Omen 15 has been linked to the RTX 3070 mobile card for some time now, most recently by NVIDIA itself. This laptop has been seen in leaks that hint at markedly improved performance compared to the Max-Q 2070 or 2080 solutions. Now, a fresh tip indicates that this is indeed the case, while also outlining how much it might cost.
It comes in the form of a new sales page added to Best Buy online - only to be pulled again soon after, implying it was posted in error. However, its cached form remains, demonstrating clearly that it refers to an Omen (15-ek1013dx) with an "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070".
This spec is listed alongside a Core i7 processor, which, should this machine be the same 15-ek1xxx PC spotted on Geekbench recently, is most likely an i7-10870H. The new leak may also show that HP intends to sell Omen 15 SKUs with 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSDs in 2021.
It looks like this configuration will start at Best Buy for US$1599.99. From the cached page, it will remain much like its 2020 forebear in terms of looks, Shadow Black colorway and all. Then again, the image giving this impression could still be a place-holder. Then again, HP has yet to formally release this putative RTX 3000 gaming laptop.
