Intel or MediaTek? HP Chromebook 11 G9 Education Edition lets users decide
Following on the footsteps of the recent HP ProBook x360 11 Education Edition is the HP Chromebook 11 G9 series. The new models will come in Intel and MediaTek flavors with different advantages and disadvantages to each.
The Intel version comes equipped with the Celeron N4500 or N5100 to be faster than what MediaTek can offer which should come in handy for remote access or multi-tasking. It also integrates 2x USB-C ports and 2x USB-A ports whereas the MediaTek version only comes with one each. On the other hand, the MediaTek version will last much longer on battery power at a claimed 16 hours.
Both the Intel and MediaTek systems are otherwise visually identical and with the same chassis design. The MediaTek options are expected to launch before the end of this month while the Intel options will follow in February. Exact prices are unknown until the units become publicly available.
