The Core i7-11700K has followed its bigger sibling onto Geekbench 5, but with a less than stellar showing for Intel's upcoming Rocket Lake-S platform. While the Core i9-11900K at least managed a significantly higher single-core score than AMD's new Ryzen 5000 processors, the same cannot be said for the Core i7-11700K.
As the screenshot below shows, the Core i7-11700K managed a measly 1,551 points, putting it on par with the Core i7-1165G7. In fairness to Intel, the Core i7-11700K outscored the Core i7-10700K by 13%. However, the Core i7-11700K also fell 7% behind the results of the Ryzen 7 5800X in our database.
Worse still, the Core i7-10700K outscored the Core i7-11700K in Geekbench's multi-core benchmark. Assuming this is a one-time poor showing by the Core i7-11700K, then it would need to make massive gains to reach the score of 11,319 achieved by the Ryzen 7 5800X during our tests. Currently though, even the Ryzen 5 5600X has the Core i7-11700K beat in Geekbench's multi-core benchmark. The Core i9-11900K has been seen nearly hitting 11,000 points mind you, but we doubt that the Core i7-11700K will match that. You can examine the full benchmark results for the Core i7-11700K below.
