HP is adding AMD Ryzen Pro 5000 APU options with integrated Radeon graphics to its EliteBook G8 business lineup. With three different sizes, the AMD-powered EliteBook G8 series is seeking to provide a balance between processing power, lightweight design and security features.
HP’s EliteBook 835 G8 is the smallest model of this lineup, with a 0.7-inch profile and 2.8 lbs total weight. This 13-inch laptop comes with three FHD screen options: a 1000 nits panel with SureView Reflect privacy feature, a 400 nits low-power panel and 250 nits panel. Users can equip the laptop with up to 64 GB of RAM and up to 2 TB of NVMe SSD storage. Port selection includes 2x USB-C + 2x USB-A connectors, an HDMI 2.0b video output and combo audio jack. Other features include a fingerprint sensor, HD IR cam and optional SmartCard reader and SIM slot.
There is also a 14-inch EliteBook 845 G8 model with 0.7-inch profile and 3.1 lbs weight. The specs are largely the same from the 13-inch model, except for the 250 nits touchscreen option, Bang & Olufsen audio system, three multi array mics, spill resistant premium keyboard, and a DisplayPort video out.
The largest model is represented by the 15.6-inch EliteBook 855 G8 that has a 0.78-inch profile and weighs 3.87 lbs. This one has all the screen options for the other two models plus an additional 4K UHD anti-glare low-power panel with 400 nits peak luminance. All other specs are identical with the ones on the 14-inch model.
Unfortunately, HP does not mention the exact processor specs. Availability and pricing will be disclosed at a later date.
