8K Live Photos show dynamic Zeiss camera quality ahead of Vivo X500 launch

Next week will be extremely exciting not only for Oppo. Vivo kicks things off on Monday with the official China launch of the Vivo X500 series, with global markets following a few weeks later. While Oppo's marketing activities over the past few hours have focused primarily on new camera samples, Vivo and most early testers are currently demonstrating Live Photos previously limited to 4K quality.
These motion photos contain or link to a short video clip. Apple popularized this format back in 2015 with the launch of the iPhone 6s. Vivo now offers higher 8K video quality for these short video sequences, equivalent to a photo resolution of around 33 megapixels. Unfortunately, there is still no easy way to display these videos on websites without additional programming, so below you will only see the static photo portion.

Anyone with a Weibo account can also check out the motion part under this hashtag. The album app on Vivo phones and some image-hosting services also support the video part. Interestingly, we could only find 8K live photos from the base Vivo X500 model so far. However, we have also embedded a few camera samples from an early Vivo X500 Pro Max tester below.

While browsing on Weibo, we also came across the user Vetrax嚣张卫视, who has posted a few of the photos he took with the Vivo X500 Pro Max.
