8BitDo teases Tomb Raider anniversary edition controllers

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Tomb Raider, and while fans are looking forward to the arrival of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider: Catalyst in 2027. There are other things to be excited for such as 8BitDo's Tomb Raider 30th anniversary edition controllers.

Back in January when the 30th anniversary celebration was announced, it was revealed that 8BitDo is among the partners that will release special 30th anniversary products this year. Now, the first teaser has been revealed, and it shows there will be two special edition controllers to mark the milestone.

The 23-second long video shows a person playing the first Tomb Raider game on a CRT TV, and then it pans out to show two controllers in the dark. While the design of the controllers is hidden, their silhouettes and the hashtags for the teaser already reveal which existing 8BitDo controllers are getting the cosmetic makeover.

One of the Tomb Raider 30th anniversary edition controllers is a variant of the 8BitDo Ultimate 3 (available on Amazon for $99.99), which is already available in two colors — Lavender and Mossy Lagoon, while the other controller is the 8BitDo Pro 3 (curr. available on Amazon for $59.98). Released last year, the 8BitDo Pro 3 is available in four colors, so this will be the first special edition that is tied to a game.

8BitDo has not revealed when the controllers will be announced, but we hope it is around the corner. We also hope there won't be long wait before they are finally available to buy, unlike the 8BitDo Ultimate 3E ($149.99 on Amazon) which was announced in January at CES 2026, but didn't get released until late August.
