A leaker reports that Xiaomi is preparing to launch a Redmi K50 model aimed at Esports players. Accordingly, the version will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, currently one of the most powerful smartphone chipsets on the market. The device is also thought to house X-axis linear motors, among other features.

The well-known leaker, Digital Chat Station, has shared more details about the Redmi K50 series, one of several smartphones that Xiaomi has in the works. According to Digital Chat Station, the Redmi K50 series, which has leaked several times in the last few weeks, will arrive with a model aimed at Esports players. It is unclear if this will be a China-only release, though.

Reputedly, the Esports model has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, which we reviewed last month at Qualcomm's launch event. Seemingly, Digital Chat Station's claim fits with one made by Lu Weibing, Redmi's General Manager. Writing on Weibo, Weibing stated that at least one Redmi K50 series smartphone would feature Qualcomm's latest flagship chipset, along with a cooling solution dubbed 'Dual VC Liquid Cooling'.

The same model should include a 4,700 mAh battery and 120 W charging capabilities, as we discussed separately. Incidentally, this model may be the 21121210C seen on Geekbench with 12 GB of RAM. Additionally, Digital Chat Station asserted that the Esports model would contain JBL-branded speakers, Gorilla Glass Victus coverage and X-axis linear motors, among other features.

Reportedly, Xiaomi will release other Redmi K50 models with Dimensity 8000 and Dimensity 9000 SoCs later, details of which leaked in December. Xiaomi is expected to reveal the Redmi K50 series as early as February.
