Xiaomi 11i: Indian variant of the Redmi Note 11 Pro debuts with a massive battery and in four colours

The Xiaomi 11i has arrived in India, the cheapest entry in the Xiaomi 11i series. The Xiaomi 11i is India's version of the Redmi Note 11 Pro, launched last year in China. The Xiaomi 11i measures 163 x 76 x 8.3 mm and weighs 207 g, 3 g heavier than the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge. The additional weight could be down to the Xiaomi 11i's larger battery, which has a 5,160 mAh capacity. By contrast, the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge has a 4,500 mAh battery split across two cells.

However, the Xiaomi 11i does not offer its sibling's 120 W charging. Instead, the Xiaomi 11i tops out at 67 W, which Xiaomi refers to as Xiaomi TurboCharge. The large battery powers a Dimensity 920 SoC and a 6.67-inch AMOLED display that resolves at 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. The AMOLED panel also has a 120 Hz refresh rate, a 360 Hz touch sampling rate, a 395 PPI and a 1,200 nit peak brightness. A 16 MP front-facing camera sits beneath the display, too.

Additionally, the Xiaomi 11i has three rear-facing cameras and a large LED flash. The device's main camera is a 108 MP sensor, matching the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge. Also, Xiaomi has included an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2 MP macro lens; no camera is optically stabilised. Incidentally, the Xiaomi 11i can record videos in up to 4K at 30 FPS or 720p at 960 FPS for slow-motion videos.

At launch, the Xiaomi 11i will only be available with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. However, the company refers to an 8 GB of RAM model in its specification sheet. Presumably, Xiaomi will release this higher RAM variant at a later date, possibly after it stops selling the Xiaomi 11i at a discounted rate. From tomorrow, the Xiaomi 11i will be purchasable for INR 24,999 (~US$336) in Camo Green, Pacific Pearl, Purple Mist and Stealth Black. After its sale period ends, the Xiaomi 11i will rise to INR 29,999 (~US$403) with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, regardless of the colour chosen.
