Xiaomi's next flagship clamshell Android smartphone is thought to come with various considerable improvements over its first-gen forebear. One of those has been thought to be a significantly larger battery - but not that much bigger after all, according to a new leak. Then again, the Mix Flip 2 might make up for that with the addition of some series-first features.

If you are after Snapdragon 8 Elite power in an up-to-date clamshell form-factor with traditionally 'female'-oriented features, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is the Android smartphone to hold out for in 2025, according to the latest leaks.

Some of them have pointed to a battery upgrade compared to its inaugural predecessor; however, according to veteran leaker Digital Chat Station, it has been scaled down to 5,050mAh to 5,100mAh in terms of rated capacity rather than ~5,600mAh as hinted in earlier leaks.

Then again, even if that figure turns out to be the Mix Flip 2's actual rated capacity, it will still be bigger than that of its 4,780mAh forebear.

Furthermore, Digital Chat Station backs the second-gen flagship to launch with Xiaomi's relatively fast (especially compared to that of the new Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra) 50W wireless charging, a feature missing from the original Mix Flip.

Its successor is also now said to be IPX8, which, while not representing the highest level of waterproofing out there, would be an improvement over the complete absence of an official IP rating in the Mix Flip.

The Xiaomi Mix Flip: now available on Amazon in Germany for €800 (~$833).
