Ultrahuman M1 continuous glucose monitor launches in US
The Ultrahuman M1 continuous glucose monitor is now available in the US. The device is already available in countries like the UK, the Netherlands and India. Other wearables from the company, like the Ultrahuman Ring AIR, are also on sale in the US.
The M1 glucose monitoring solution uses the Abbott FreeStyle Libre, an FDA-approved and medical-grade CGM sensor. The company recommends changing the adhesive sensor patch twice monthly, scanning it with an NFC reader to begin the Bluetooth connection to your smartphone. You can view the collected data in real-time in the accompanying app, with insights like metabolic and food scores. Ultrahuman suggests using the insights gathered by the device to improve your sleep, find foods that trigger a stable glucose response in your body and enhance metabolic fitness. Plus, the M1 is water resistant for up to 30 minutes at a depth of 2m (~7 ft), meaning it can be worn while swimming and showering.
You can buy the Ultrahuman M1 Live Glucose Tracking solution in the US with one-month, three-month and one-year bundles, retailing for $299, $699 and $2,399, respectively. These are currently discounted by 20%, with the deal running until February 29th. There is also the option for a recurring subscription, priced at $249 per month. It is worth noting that US customers are told that a medical consultation is mandatory before they begin using the device.
