A number of newer Amazfit smartwatches are capable of sleep-tracking as part of their health-metric suites. They include the GTR and GTS, which have recently been updated further in order to evaluate sleep patterns during the day as well. This involves adding this data to records through its relevant app.

Huami's wearables brand Amazfit markets its smartwatches as health- and fitness-focused devices. To this end, it updates these products regularly with new and improved features that drive this goal. They include popular models from 2019 and 2020, the Stratos 3, GTR and GTS included.

Accordingly, the latest software for the latter two contain a new feature for their sleep tracking app. It is the ability to count daytime naps into the data it collects, analyses and displays to the user over time. However, these naps have to last 20 minutes or more to be detected by the wearables.

These new abilities are packaged in the new 1.3.5.77 & 0.0.9.12 firmware updates for the GTS and GTR respectively. They may be able to help these devices' owners to track their time spent asleep, as well as in the different types of sleep (e.g. its rapid eye movement (REM) or slow-wave sleep (SWS) stages) over each night - or during daylight hours, indeed.
