Huami apparently has second-generation Amazfit smartwatches and a mysterious new product in the works
Fans of Huami and its Amazfit line will be pleased to know there appear to be at least three new wearables in the works. Thanks to some effective Zepp 4.8.9 app code digging by MagicalUnicorn on the GeekDoing forum, three codenames have been discovered that relate to three different Amazfit products.
The codename “Lisbon” was unearthed connected to code mentioning the Amazfit GTR 2 and “Newton” was linked with the Amazfit GTS 2. The Huami Amazfit GTS is the square-faced smartwatch from the company, whereas the GTR smartwatch has a more timeless and elegant aesthetic to it for those who prefer a circular watch face.
There was even mention of a “Tokyo” device that was named as the Amazfit Neo. It’s unclear if this is a smartwatch or smartband from Huami, but it will be interesting to find out what innovative product the Chinese company could be working on.
Confusingly, the code also revealed that the former Mi Band 5 codename “York”, which was later believed to be attributed to the already leaked Amazfit Band 6, is actually linked to the Amazfit Band 5. Hopefully Huami will soon clear things up by releasing its new smartwatches and fitness trackers soon.
