Reviews for the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active
A bit of business. Samsung wants to participate more strongly in the business field with its Galaxy Tab Active. The tablet is not only dust and waterproof, but it also protected against drops. It might just be an interesting alternative for field workers with LTE and stylus inputting.

Overall, with a few small upgrades such as a better camera and another speaker, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active could be a decent device for the consumer market. However, this is not Samsung’s goal when the company created the Tab Active. Instead, the device is intended for the professional environment, especially in areas where other tablets would be much too delicate and fragile.

The Galaxy Tab Active delivers on its promised ruggedness, surviving the kinds of mayhem you're likely to encounter when you take a tablet away from the relative safety of a desk job. Coupled with the enterprise class support built into the Tab Active, the device would be just about ideal for an on-the-go worker -- if the device had the ability to add cellular connectivity.

Unfortunately, the device doesn't offer some of the bells and whistles of consumer-friendly devices. The cameras don't pack much pop and the screen resolution isn't on-par with the Galaxy Tab S. The Galaxy Tab Active doesn't offer much storage, so you won't want to use this as a two-in-one device for heavier computing.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active is Samsung's first water and dust resistant tablet. The Tab Active can function properly even after having been in heavy rain. However, users shouldn't deliberately dunk and soak the device in water. It is protected against shock and withstands drops from up to 1.2 meters. The sturdy tablet is available in Titanium Green and weights at only 400 g. Since the tablet is able to withstand harsh condition, it is the optimal tablet for those who travels often.
The 8-inch tablet is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB internal memory. The memory capacity can be expanded by up to 64 GB via microSD slot. It runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) and comes attached with a stylus called C-Pen. The display is decent at 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, but comes short with other similar sized tablets offering better resolutions than the 189 ppi offered.
The cameras are nothing to boast about either with the 1.2 MP front camera and 3.1 MP main camera. The Samsung offers Bluetooth 4.0, a USB 2.0 port, a microUSB port, USB charging and GPS technology. The removable Lithium ion 4450 mAh battery is claimed by Samsung to be able to last for up to 10 hours of usage.
