Reviews for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite
Similar to the flagship Galaxy Tab S6, the less expensive Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is also shipped with the digital input pen S-Pen. However, the 10.4-inch tablet only costs half of the flagship and almost looks identical, but there are some internal changes. We review the Lite version of the tablet.

In truth, there isn’t much that’s new and exciting about the Galaxy Tab S6. There are several things about this tablet I like very much: the screen is great, the bundled S Pen is a neat extra and, despite the price, it feels like a proper piece of premium hardware. But it doesn’t exactly sit in the upper echelons of tablet innovation. Clearly, there are far better tablets for your money. But as far as Android is concerned, no tablet is as fully formed as the Tab S6 at this end of the price scale. The 10.2in iPad remains the best overall when it comes to sheer value for money but the Tab S6 Lite easily comes a close second.

Inside the S6 lite box you’ll find the tablet, S Pen, 7.75A charger and USB C Cable. The S Pen sticks to the side of the tablet magnetically but it’s a good idea to keep them together in a pouch or other storage otherwise you’ll lose the Pen quickly.

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has a lot going on under the ‘Lite’ name tag and for the starting price of Rs 27,999. It offers good battery life, decent performance, best-in-class sound output, acceptable camera quality and a display that won’t let you down for almost anything. The S-Pen support and bundled SPen further adds to the usefulness of the device. But, behind all that goodness, there are a few shortcomings too such as missing Dex mode, first-party keyboard cover support, etc. For the price, Samsung has intended to make a good tablet device that is more inclined towards the casual usages than a proper laptop replacement. So, if you are looking for an alternate device for your daily recreational dose of entertainment, browsing, watching movies, playing some games, then Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a good option to go with. Also, if you are a college student and takes lots of notes, the addition of S-Pen makes a strong case here as well.

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite’s USP is that it brings the premium feel of the Galaxy Tab S6 and the S-Pen to a slightly more affordable budget. It’s great to watch shows on, play light to moderately intense games on, it’s absolutely fit for daily social media surfing, it allows you to quickly take notes, it’s has a perfect size to be an e-reader, it lets your doodle very easily, and has a very intuitive algorithm for converting your scribbles into text.

Well, with the Coronavirus pandemic still in full swing, and many of still stuck in our homes, without access to larger displays for consuming multimedia content, or a lightweight convenient laptop for taking care of our productivity needs, the Galaxy tab S6 Lite from Samsung could prove to be a very good buy.

If you’re searching for a basic productivity and entertainment device rather than a laptop replacement, then the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a real contender. It’s got a great featherweight design, is suited to streaming and is a brilliant tool for note-taking if you’re a student.

That leaves the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite as the right tablet for a very specific niche: people who want a stylus but for some reason don't want an iPad. As a reading, sketching, and note-taking tool with a flexible, open file system, the S6 Lite hits the spot.

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is an expensive slate, which could have been an ideal big screen device if it had the Samsung DeX computing platform and power-packed performance. In its own capabilities, the Tab S6 works great for online classes, scribble and doodle, and entertainment (with a few fixes). However, there is not much you can do on this tab due to the weak processor and lag in performance. Put in the extra money and go for the Galaxy Tab S6, which makes a better proposition ideal for work, fun and everything else in between.

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is yet another Android-powered tablet from Samsung, and there isn't a lot of competition these days. It is built well and offers solid battery life. The S Pen stylus is a neat add-on, and is thankfully included in the box.

Lisa Gade reviews Samsung’s more affordable Galaxy Tab S6 Lite that competes with the 2019 iPad. The tablet has a 10.4” 2000 x 1200 display and it runs Android 10 with OneUI 2.0 on the fairly capable Samsung Exynos 9611 octa-core processor. The S Pen (Wacom EMR technology) is included, and it has 4,096 pressure levels and supports tilt. This Android tablet has a microSD card slot, headphone jack and USB-C port and is available with 64GB or 128GB storage.

Buy the Samsung Tab S6 Lite if you are looking for a tablet option to mix work and fun on the move. It could also be the perfect tablet for your child, who is figuring out online classes, but does not really need a full-fledged computer. Buy the LTE version only if that is a genuine use case for you, otherwise, the Wi-Fi version should be more than good. While there is competition from the iPad at this price point, there are very few Android rivals for what the Samsung Tab S6 Lite has to offer.

In the end, with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite you're getting an all-around tablet that's good for both entertainment and productivity. It might not replace a laptop like the Tab S6 attempts to, but you can easily use it for classes, commuting and more -- especially if you're ready to pick up the pen.

Overall, apart from the Bluetooth keyboard and Samsung DeX, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite should make for an enticing tablet for those of you who want to stay productive with Android but don’t want to lug around a laptop. This makes it great for professionals on the go, teachers, students and maybe even schoolkids trying to learn from home but at RM1699 it is a bit on the pricey side.

As with the regular Tab S6, your success with the Tab S6 Lite really does depend on your expectations. If you’re uninterested in the iPadOS ecosystem, it’s a worthy alternative but it’s much better suited to content consumption than creation. Samsung Tab S6 Lite can’t really compete on performance or polish but it’s more-or-less proficient for the price.

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite hits the sweet spot as a tablet that gets all the basics right while offering something not many other tablets in the sub-$400 segment can boast: Access to Samsung’s S Pen experience. It’s great for drawing and taking notes, and the big screen and excellent stereo sound also make it a good media consumption device, despite the fact that you have to make do with an LCD display. Gaming performance is more than adequate as well, and it’s only the serious workaholics who won’t be happy with the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, owing to the lack of support for Samsung DeX and an official keyboard accessory.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is positioned very well, price-wise, to take some attention away from Apple’s excellent iPad 10.2. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite comes with an S Pen out of the box and only costs $350, while you will have to spend an extra $100 on top of the iPad’s $330 if you want to draw on Apple’s tablet.

A well-rounded and sensibly-priced tablet that almost goes toe-to-toe with the entry-level iPad. Android isn't quite as slick as iOS on bigger screens, but the Tab S6 Lite is still a great value device for streaming and sketching.

As Google shifts its attention to Chrome OS, Samsung has once again found a way to make a case for Android tablets. With its premium design, bright display and epic battery life, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a legitimate alternative to the iPad or Surface Go 2. It even has thin display bezels and an included S Pen, a pair of features usually reserved for pricier devices.

For tablet users who love the idea of sketching and note-taking but don't want to pay another £90 for an Apple Pencil, the Samsung Galaxy Tab is a great buy. However, some small tracking errors, an LCD screen and Android niggles prevent the Tab S6 Lite from ranking with the best.

The Tab S6 Lite scraps 5 features but it gains two more features that we test and discuss in this review. We also compared it to the 10.2" iPad and we found that it was a bit lacking in certain areas. Because of these things, you definitely need to take CAUTION before you buy this tablet, or simply choose one of the alternative tablets above.

Following last year's flagship Galaxy Tab S6, Samsung's aiming to offer a similar experience at a much lower price with the aptly-named Tab S6 Lite. There's a lot about the tablet that works well, namely the design, display, and included S Pen that magnetically attaches to the side of the S6 Lite. Unfortunately, slow performance from the Exynos 9610 processor puts a damper on the entire experience, as does the lack of a fingerprint sensor. This is a decent value proposition, but so is the baseline iPad with an Apple Pencil.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a well-rounded iPad competitor, and it’s arguably the best non-premium tablet the company has ever put out. It has strengths, from the inclusion of the S Pen to software customization options and a fairly robust and good-looking design. All-in-all, the Tab s6 Lite is an excellent Android tablet. It's not top of the line by any means, but it comes bundled with the S Pen for $429, making it much cheaper than its peers and performing almost the same. It might not be the new Nexus 7 because Android still isn't great on tablets, but it is a decent Android tablet for a good price, and that's hard to turn down.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite may be one of the best iPad 10.2 competitors - it's fairly affordable, has a good screen for the money, and its stylus offers a range of features that some users will find really useful. However it can be quite slow to use, and Android still isn't the ideal tablet operating system that it really should be.

Model:
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a well-rounded iPad competitor, and it is arguably the best non-premium tablet the company has ever put on the market. The device has a glass front and rear with a metal frame, and these materials make it feel rather sturdy, as though it could survive being dropped a few times. One design feature of this Galaxy Tab 6 Lite that may impress some is that the bezel which surrounds the screen is as slim as those found in iPads and Galaxy Tab A slates. This low screen-to-body ratio simply means that the device has a good screen size which fits perfectly in one’s hand without the feeling of being overly large.
The rear camera is situated in the top left corner on the back of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. In addition, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top of the device – this will definitely please wired headphones users. There is a power button and volume rocker on the right edge, while a single USB Type-C port has been incorporated on the bottom edge of the device. It should be noted that not all affordable tablets come with a USB Type-C port, as some have micro USB, which is way slower in data transferring and charging. Therefore, this is one of the features which makes this tablet stand out among the competition.
The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has been equipped with a 10.4-inch LCD screen with a 2000 x 1200p resolution. In terms of its screen size, this device is only 0.1 inches smaller than the non-Lite tablet, but the lack of that slate’s higher resolution AMOLED panel is one of the drawbacks of this budget tablet. The screen quality is quite nice and bright, which is pretty good for LCD. The tablet also comes with the S Pen stylus in the box, which is definitely a useful addition for drawing, sketching and taking notes. However, unlike the Galaxy Tab S6, there is no slot in the Tab S6 Lite for stowing the stylus. Therefore, it has to be magnetically perched on the right edge.
As far as the performance is concerned, this model runs on the Exynos 9611 chipset made by Samsung itself; it has also been previously seen in a number of mid-range and affordable phones like the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A50s. This is paired with 4 GB of RAM. The Exynos 9611 is not a powerful chipset, but it is definitely fine for doing anything not too demanding. As for the battery, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite carries a big 7,040mAh battery, which obviously avoids frequent recharging. In terms of its colour variation, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is available in three colours, namely Oxford Gray, Angora Blue and Chiffon Rose, for users to choose from. Overall, this tablet carries its own high and low points that need to be considered before deciding on owning one.
