Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro joined by Vivo X60 Pro+ in full assault on AnTuTu's latest flagship smartphone chart but the iQOO 7 remains in charge
The AnTuTu flagship smartphone performance chart for February has revealed a lot of movement since January’s chart. Although the iQOO 7 with its SD 888 and 12 GB + 256 GB configuration has retained the lead, its average score has dwindled, leaving the Vivo X60 Pro+ just 14 points behind in second place. Another SD 888-powered smartphone in the form of the Redmi K40 Pro takes up third position, just ahead of the Xiaomi Mi 11.
While those top four positions in the AnTuTu flagship smartphone chart are filled by devices featuring the Snapdragon 888 processor, fifth place belongs to the Huawei Mate 40 Pro with its Kirin 9000 SoC. Close behind is another SD 888 rival and the only non-Chinese phone: the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. The Redmi K40 with its Snapdragon 870 then makes an impressive appearance in seventh, with an average score of 668,471 points.
In fact, these performances indicate that the Redmi K40 series is more a flagship range rather than a flagship-killing set of smartphones. Although the prices of the two new phones (three if you include the Redmi K40 Pro Plus) are very reasonable in comparison to some of the other entrants on the list, the term “flagship” applies more to the components, design, and overall manufacturing of the smartphone rather than just its price tag.
