Despite the relatively affordable starting price of the base Galaxy S21, tech blogs such as LetsGoDigital still believe that Samsung will unleash an FE (or Fan Edition) variant alongside it, as it might appeal more to young professionals and those looking for an even better deal.
Accordingly, this site's latest renders paint a picture of an S21 FE that, like the S21, will have a "glasstic" rear panel. However, according to these images, it does not really upgrade to the rest of its series' new frame/camera hump esthetic, looking more like an S20 FE instead.
Samsung left the S20 FE's camera module black across its range of colors, although that is not the case in the putative new FE model, which has also acquired a new palette in these renders: pale shades of green, blue, gray or purple. Then again, LetsGoDigital now asserts that it will have the same 6.5-inch FHD+ 120Hz display as last year.
This front panel might not support HDR, but will probably be flat, at least. Samsung might even leave the Fan Edition's 32MP punch-hole camera the same across its generations. Furthermore, the S21 FE might be stuck with the same 12+12+8MP rear cameras from the S20.
Then again, they are capable of 3x Hybrid zoom, as well as 30X Space Zoom. Nevertheless, the "new FE" is thought to upgrade to the 4800mAh battery available to its series. On that note, the latest leak hints at the Exynos 2100 for the upcoming budget flagship variant, even though the S20 FE has a Snapdragon 865 processor.
Finally, LetsGoDigital projects that this S21 FE might have 6 to 8GB of RAM with 128GB to 256GB of internal storage, and start at the €650 (~US$785) mark (as the S21 started at €850 in Europe). However, that might well translate to about $699 in other markets such as the US - the S20 FE is now only $599 on Amazon, after all.
However, unfortunately, it is now predicted that its successor will follow the rest of its series in dropping the 3.5mm jack and microSD card support in 2021.
