Vivo has just effectively confirmed leaks that suggested its current X60 flagship series would launch outside China soon with the Snapdragon 870 processor, apparently leaving the Exynos 1080-powered SKUs a domestic exclusive.
This might be good news for mobile photography fans in Malaysia, as the OEM has partnered with Zeiss in order to develop these second-gen "gimbal-cam" phones. Then again, Vivo's new teasers only seem to show the X60 and not its Pro variant, which also has a periscope zoom lens in addition to this spec. Nevertheless, it also specifically states that the new series is coming on March 22, 2021.
Hopefully, this event will be followed up by similar launches in more regions. Vivo is, for example, also active in Europe, a market in which it also plans to expand in 2021. Therefore, its amended X60 series might also be destined for that area this year...which, as that might mean we get to review them here on NBC, would be just great.
(Then again, you can also just order a Vivo X60 Pro now on Amazon.com.)
