Radster Trail e-bike with torque sensor now available to pre-order
Rad Power Bikes has released a new model in the US, the Radster Trail electric off-road bike. The company closed the European arm of its business last August and is therefore not expected to launch the new e-bike in this market.
Designed for off-roading, the Radster Trail features 3-inch fat tires from Kenda and an SR Suntour hydraulic suspension fork with 80mm travel. An up to 750W motor with 100Nm torque allows you to ride with assistance at speeds up to 28 mph (~45 kph). This can be activated using a half-twist throttle, and a torque sensor ensures the power matches your pedalling output. The 8-speed e-bike’s 720Wh Safe Shield Battery battery provides up to 65 miles (~105 km) range, with technology designed to prevent accidents related to overheating.
Also included is an upgraded full-color display, which you can use to view information like your speed, switch assistance mode and charge your phone via a USB-C port. Plus, the display can be locked using a code or a fob for additional security. Other features include a Shimano derailleur, Tektro hydraulic disc brakes and a 200-lumen LED headlight. Plus, front and rear racks allow you to transport luggage. The e-bike has an aluminum frame and weighs around 78 lb (~35 kg), supporting loads of up to 370 lb (~165 kg).
The Radster Trail is available in two sizes, Regular and Large, and two colors, Copper Red and Fir Green. You can now pre-order the Rad Power Radster Trail e-bike in the US for $1,999. The company is expected to ship most versions by March 27th, with the Regular Fir Green shipping slightly later from April 10th.
