The Oppo Magnetic Power Bank 5000mAh has arrived in China. Also known as the Magnetic Energy Card power bank, the model is designed as an accessory for the recently released Find X8 smartphone. However, it is also compatible with other Android and iOS devices.
The Magnetic Power Bank can charge devices via a wireless charging pad and a USB-C port. The maximum power outputs are not provided; for context, the Oppo Find X8 supports 50W wireless and 80W wired flash charging. The USB-C port is also used to recharge the device, though the time needed to fully charge the accessory remains unclear. Other features include temperature monitoring to protect against overheating and LED indicator lights to show the remaining battery level.
The accessory has a compact silver aluminium alloy casing, weighing 120g (~0.3 lbs) and measuring 96 x 69 x 8.8 mm (~3.8 x 2.7 x 0.3 inches). That makes it thinner than the Anker 621 Magnetic Portable Charger (MagGo) (curr. $39.99. at Amazon), which is 11 mm (~0.45 inches) thick. You can now order the Oppo Magnetic Power Bank 5000mAh in China for CNY 149 (~$21). The device will officially launch in the region on November 10th. It is unclear whether or when this product could launch in other markets like Europe.
