Growing worldwide shipment gap between HP and Acer
Q4 data indicates Hewlett-Packard and Acer are doing better
Allegedly, HP shipments in the fourth quarter of 2009 has increased and made Acer’s big goal of being on top of the list more complicated.
Over the holiday season, people tend to buy more. Reportedly, Hewlett-Packard shipped the whopping 11.38 million notebooks, which is approximately two million laptops more than what was shipped by Acer.
According to DigiTimes, the Taiwan-based company was very close to their big competitor in Q3 of 2009 when they were “just” 1.05 million units behind. Both companies will supposedly try to have more than 40 million shipments in 2010 with Acer focusing on ultra-thin and portable laptops.
