Motorola Razr 40 Ultra: Cheaper than expected pricing and North American name change emerge
More details about the Razr 40 Ultra have emerged online, shortly before its global release. Based on a recent leak by @evleaks, Motorola will not offer its more expensive clamshell foldable as the Razr 40 Ultra in North America. Instead, the company will bring the device to market as the Razr+, mirroring its Edge 40 Pro and Edge+ releases earlier this year.
According to 91mobiles, Motorola has priced the Razr 40 Ultra at roughly US$1,000, which would be significantly cheaper than the last Razr foldable that the company sold in the US. For some reason, Motorola decided against offering the Razr 2022 in North America, despite releasing it in Europe and other markets. Meanwhile, Roland Quandt reports that the Razr 40 Ultra will retail for €1,199 with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. For reference, the leaker confirms earlier suspicions after a retailer priced the Razr 40 Ultra for €1,202.93.
Separately, a Saudi Arabian retailer, eXtra, has listed the Razr 40 Ultra in its three launch colours. Pictured previously, all launch colours will retail for SAR 3,999 (~US$1,066), which eXtra describes as Black, Glacier Blue and Viva Magenta. Moreover, the retailer has shared various specifications, which we have listed below, including a 6.9-inch display with a 2,640 x 1,080-pixel resolution. Motorola will announce the Razr 40 Ultra on June 1 alongside the Razr 40, a cheaper option with a smaller cover display.
