The Mihogo Air carbon fiber e-bike is now crowdfunding at Indiegogo. At the time of writing, with 45 days remaining, the campaign has surpassed its seemingly arbitrary funding target of $514, raising almost $15,000 from the first ten backers.
Mihogo advertises the Air as ultra-light thanks to its carbon fiber frame, which weighs 3.5 kg (~7.7 lbs). However, when you include all the other parts, like the motor and battery, the bike weighs 22.6 kg (~49.8 lbs), making it an average weight. The claim that the bike is “easy to lift with one hand” seems misleading. The Air has a 250W motor, a single torque sensor and a 461Wh battery for up to 64 miles (~103 km) range.
The Air Max is powered by a 750W motor with thumb throttle for US customers or a 250W motor in the EU, with dual-arm torque sensors. A 1,000Wh battery allows you to ride with assistance for up to 128 miles (~206 km). With GaN fast charging, you can fully recharge the larger power pack in 3.5 hours. Other features of the 7-speed e-bike include a Shimano transmission and a 2.4-inch IPS display mounted with Bluetooth connectivity for smart notifications, navigation and remote controls via a smartphone app. Plus, the model has an IP67 water resistance rating and a range of optional accessories that you can buy.
A Super Early Bird pledge for the Mihogo Air e-bike is $999, described as 40% off the $1,665 RRP. The Mihogo Air Max is more expensive, with a Super Early Bird pledge of $1,199 and a $1,998 RRP. This is the brand’s fourth campaign on this platform, following the Mihogo One e-bike project from 2023. While many backers have received the product, some are still waiting on delivery, according to the campaign comments section. As with any crowdfunding campaign, there is no guarantee that the product will ship to backers on time or at all.
