CES 2024 | Lenovo Slim 7i Gen 9 boasts 100% DCI-P3 OLED display, 16-core Intel Core Ultra 7 CPU in 14-inch thin-and-light laptop
Lenovo is known for its thin-and-light Yoga lineup, and this year, at CES, it is launching the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i. The company claims that the 14-inch laptop delivers a balance of portability and power for on-the-go usage, and the listed specs seem to support this claim.
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Gen 9 offers plenty of CPU power, with options for up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 115H CPU paired with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory. Paired with the ample memory and processing power are an Intel Arc 8-core GPU — which trades blows with the AMD Radeon 780M and even clashes with the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, in some of our testing — and a colour-accurate OLED display. This should give it more than enough performance to serve as a mobile graphics or video editing machine, as long as users keep expectations tempered.
The display in question is a 14-inch, 60 Hz, 400-nit OLED unit with a 16:10 aspect ratio, but it does claim 100% coverage of both the sRGB and P3 colour spaces. The North American version of the device also boasts touch functionality, whereas the international version has a matte non-touch display, and all versions support Dolby Vision and a TÜV Low Blue Light Certification.
The rest of the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i 14 Gen 9 is about what you'd expect from a laptop that means business. There's a healthy port selection too, including two USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, a single USB 3.2 Type-A port, and an HDMI 2.1 port alongside the 3.5 mm headphone-microphone combo jack.
Lenovo will make the Slim 7i Gen 9 available from April 2024 at $1,049.99, which is a drop from the current-gen Lenovo Slim 7i 14, which retails for $1,179.99 from Lenovo directly.,
