Trek is expanding its already wide range of e-bikes with the Fuel EXe 8 GX AXS T-Type. The manufacturer has dispensed with the carbon frame, but the weight of 20.25 kilograms for a full-suspension e-bike is still absolutely reasonable. A lightweight mid-motor, the TQ HPR50, is installed, which has a maximum torque of 50 Nm and a maximum output of 300 watts. This is accompanied by a battery with a capacity of 360 Wh, which is rather small, so the e-bike may quickly run out of steam, especially in demanding off-road use with steep inclines. An LED display with Bluetooth and ANT+ support is available.
The suspension parts come from Fox. The Fox Rhythm 36 Float front suspension has a travel of 150 millimeters, while a Fox Performance Float X is used for the rear. 29-inch Bontrager Line Comp Tubeless Ready tires form the front and rear, which are 2.5 inches wide. Wider tires are not supported.
SRAM's 12-speed wireless GX AXS transmission is installed. The hydraulic disc brakes, each with four brake pistons, also come from SRAM, with the DB 8 brakes each gripping 200 millimeter brake discs. The Fuel EXe 8 GX AXS T-Type is priced at USD 7399 and is also available directly from Trek.
