Edifier QR65 Desktop Active Monitor Speakers debut with LDAC and extra TurboGaN fast-charging feature
Edifier touts its new QR65 Desktop Active Monitors as "a perfect fit for the multiple demands of modern life" as they can charge mobile devices while streaming up to 24-bit/96kHz audio from them. They are rated to deliver up to 65W (20V/3.25A) of power via their own USB-C ports, which are found next to a type-A port for up to 60W (20V/3A), thanks to "safe and high-efficiency" TurboGaN charging.
As speakers, each QR65 unit is equipped with "precision-tooled" 1.25-inch dome tweeters with silk diaphragms for crisp and bright trebles balanced with the "full-bodied" mids and "punchy" bass emanating from "long-throw" 2.75-inch drivers with aluminum alloy diaphragms.
They are found in an apparently acoustically optimal MDF enclosure augmented with in-house MazeTube Bass Reflex Channels and TurbMuff Air Noise Suppression Technology to minimize resonance. Edifier has also provided each speaker with its own optional aluminum stand to help prevent surface noise.
The 70W QR65s also boast internal infinite mirror-effect Lumia lighting that can be further customized using the Edifier ConneX App. They are available in either black or white for $369.99 per pair on sites such as Amazon from now.
