According to some new leaks, the Honor 9X and its Pro variant will have full-screen displays. This will allegedly be conferred by selfie cameras hidden in pop-up modules. One of these Huawei sub-brand phones may also have appeared on the Antutu benchmark database.

The 9X has been confirmed as Honor's next smartphone release. It may not be a completely premium device; however, it will get a relatively new processor, Huawei's Kirin 810, to go with decent projected specs that include a 4000mAh battery and a 48MP Sony IMX582 primary camera. Recent TENAA certifications show that this phone (provisionally known as the HLK-TL100) will also be accompanied by a second, probably Pro, version (the HLK-AL100) at launch.

It had been thought that these new devices would arrive with punch-hole camers to maximize their screen-to-body ratios. Now, however, there are indications that Honor has gone in a different direction to achieve this end. The latest renders purporting to show these phones, leaked exclusively by MySmartPrice, show the kind of edge-to-edge display that has only been elicited in 2019 through the incorporation of a pop-up camera.

These motorized modules, popularized by Vivo in 2018, move the front-facing camera off a screen and into its own compartment in the top of the phone. The new "Honor 9X line" renders end up looking a lot like the OnePlus 7 Pro or Redmi K20 Pro. However, frustratingly, they are not corroborated by their official certifications, as they currently lack live images as normal on the TENAA database.
