iQOO reveals design details for its new Lenovo Legion gaming tablet rival

iQOO has started teasing the Pad Ultra, which is set to launch alongside the company’s upcoming flagship phone. While the teasers are light on details, recently, the brand shared that the gaming tablet will feature a built-in active cooling fan.
As we detailed in a separate coverage, iQOO says that this active cooling setup has a heat dissipation area of 1,661mm, and the fan is said to reach a maximum speed of 14,500RPM. While no performance claim has been made yet, this setup could make the tablet hold well under continuous load.
In the new teaser, the company has confirmed another key detail of the gaming tablet. It’s now set to feature an 8.8-inch display, making the Pad Ultra sit as a direct competitor to the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5, as it has the same screen size. However, unlike Lenovo’s offering, the iQOO tablet is expected to come with an OLED display, which would make it a proper rival to the RedMagic Astra 2 as well.
The company further confirms that the Pad Ultra will be 5.74mm thick, which is rather impressive considering that it comes with a cooling fan. As a matter of fact, this makes the tablet thinner than the Legion Tab Gen 5 (7.9mm) (curr. $689.99 on Lenovo) and even the RedMagic Astra 2 (6.9mm).
Another notable aspect revealed by iQOO is that the Pad Ultra weighs 298 grams (around 0.65lb), which makes it lighter than the Astra 2 (363 grams) and Legion Tab Gen 5 (360 grams). Other specs of the tablet are under wraps, but recent reports suggest that it will be powered by the next-gen Snapdragon flagship SoC, have thin bezels, and will be powered by a large 9,000mAh battery. The company could confirm these with the upcoming teasers.
