MagyarAYA NEO Air Plus: New gaming handheld revealed at higher than expected prices
AYA NEO has finally revealed full pricing and availability for the AIR Plus, a 6-inch gaming handheld that will come in AMD Ryzen 3 7320U, Ryzen 5 7520U, Ryzen 7 6800U and Intel Core i3-1215U flavours. While the company promised to release the AIR Plus today, it has only announced how much each SKU will cost, when it will be available and through which platform.
As expected, AYA NEO will turn to Indiegogo to fund AIR Plus production rather than offering the handheld through its eCommerce platform. Currently, it is unclear whether the three processor options will reach Indiegogo simultaneously. AYA NEO states that Ryzen 7 6800U models will be ready sooner than their Core i3-1215U, Ryzen 3 7320U and Ryzen 5 7520U counterparts, with 'early May' scheduled for the former and 'end of May' for the latter. Conversely, AYA NEO will begin shipping the AIR Plus a month earlier in China. Pricing for the AYA NEO AIR Plus is as follows:
In other words, the AIR Plus will start at US$549 and not for under US$300, as the company claimed previously. That pricing only applies to the Ryzen 3 7320U APU, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage to, with a 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage variant priced at US$599. Meanwhile, the Core i3-1215U will be available at the same price but will cost US$100 more for the upper memory variant. Moreover, AYA NEO has set a US$649 pre-order price for the Ryzen 5 7520U, with the Ryzen 7 6800U coming in at US$779, both with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.
Finally, there will be the AIR Plus with a Ryzen 7 6800U, 32 GB of RAM and 2 TB of storage for US$1,179. Incidentally, AYA NEO has dubbed Ryzen 7 6800U models the AIR Plus 'Advance Version' and not merely the AIR Plus. For reference, Advance Version models are heavier and have faster LPDDR5-6400 RAM, compared to the LPDDR5-5500 RAM in AMD Mendocino models and LPDDR5-5200 in the Core i3-1215U. All other specifications are identical:
