AYA NEO AIR Plus release date announced for new ultra-thin gaming handheld
The AYA NEO AIR Plus edges closer to release. A month ago, AYA NEO provided more details about the gaming handheld, including that Ryzen 7 6800U SKUs would replace Pentium Gold 8505 ones. As we discussed at the time, Ryzen 7 6800U-powered SKUs would feature larger batteries than other AIR Plus models.
Now, AYA NEO has disclosed that the AIR Plus will launch next week, roughly eight months after the gaming handheld debuted. At this stage, AYA NEO has yet to confirm whether it intends to sell the AIR Plus directly or through a crowdfunding platform like Indiegogo. Typically, the company tends to do the latter, as with the AYA NEO 2. Regardless, the AIR Plus will be available with the following processor options:
- Intel Core i3-1215U: 2 P-cores, 4 E-cores, 8 threads/UHD Graphics 64 Execution Units iGPU
- AMD Ryzen 5 7520U: 4 Zen 2 CPU cores, 8 threads/Radeon 610M
- AMD Ryzen 7 6800U: 8 Zen 3+ CPU cores, 16 threads/Radeon 680M
AYA NEO has not confirmed pricing yet either, other than a vague commitment to sell at least one SKU for less than US$300. AYA NEO will launch the AIR Plus on February 28. Presumably, the company will not be ready to begin shipping units to people on or around launch day, though.
