Xiaomi sells 2 million wearables 30 minutes into Singles' Day
November 11, 2021 is now technically over in China, and Xiaomi has taken to Weibo to celebrate its success over the day, and over the year thus far. The electronics giant has revealed that it sold wearables, as well as phones and other devices, in their millions within the first hour of the major sales festival in its native country.
Xiaomi also now asserts that it sold 15 billion yuan's (~US$2.35 billion) worth of Mi 11-series devices by 02:00 on the day. This adds up to 19.3 billion yuan (~$3 billion) of revenue from the phones for all of 2021 thus far.
That figure applied across all the platforms and channels the OEM sell through in China; however, the company has found that it did best via the popular online retailers Tmall and JD.
The 2 stores combined did 3 times as well out of Xiaomi goods in the first 2 hours of 11.11 in 2021 compared to 2020. The OEM also now claims that the Mi Mix Fold is now the best-selling foldable mobile device on either site. Similarly, the Mi Mix 4 is the best-seller in the 4000 yuan (~$626) or more price-tier in either store.
