Xiaomi TV ES50 2022: 50-inch Smart TV presented with Dolby Vision and MEMC support
Xiaomi has presented a new Smart TV called the TV ES50 2022. As its name suggests, the TV ES50 2022 has a 50-inch display with thin bezels on all sides. Additionally, the panel operates natively in 4K, while Xiaomi claims that it covers 94% of the DCI-P3 colour space.
The TV itself relies on a MediaTek MT9638 SoC with four ARM Cortex-A55 cores and a Mali G52 MC1 GPU. Also, Xiaomi has included 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage pre-loaded with MIUI for TV 3.0. Xiaomi has integrated far-field microphones for voice commands, too.
According to Xiaomi, the TV supports MEMC to minimise image tearing, even though its refresh rate peaks at 60 Hz. Moreover, the TV ES50 2022 can playback Dolby Vision-compatible content and has an in-house 'Super Resolution' algorithm designed to sharpen images where possible.
Currently, Xiaomi has only announced the 600-nit TV in China, where it will retail for CNY 2,399 (~US$376). International availability remains unknown at this stage, but the TV ES50 2022 will be orderable in China from December 11.
