The JMGO U2 is a 4K DLP projector that can project at up to 3,600 ANSI Lumens when paired with an ALR screen. JMGO will ship for the U2 from next month for Indiegogo InDemand orders, where it costs US$2,599.

JMGO has finalised the shipping dates of the U2, one of three projectors that it announced over the summer. According to posts on its Indiegogo campaign, the U2 will begin shipping from next month for InDemand purchases. Specifically, North American orders should ship by December 15 or December 30 if you live in the EU or UK.

The U2 is available to order for US$2,599 before taxes and customs duties. The price does not include a screen though, which is a US$669 surcharge. JMGO includes an Ambient Light Rejection (ALR) screen at this price, for reference, which measures 100-inches across.

Using an ALR screen allows the JMGO U2 to project at up to 3,600 ANSI Lumens. According to the manufacturer, if you decide on using a different surface or screen, then you must settle for 2,400 ANSI Lumens, instead. Regardless, the JMGO U2 covers the entire BT.2020 colour space and support MEMC to minimise image blur.

It is also worth stressing that while JMGO advertises the U2 as a 4K laser projector, it is a 4K DLP projector. Hence, the U2 relies on pixel shifting to reach 4K, so it is not a native resolution. The projector features HDMI 2.0, USB and RJ45 LAN connections too, should you wish to connect external devices. The U2 runs Android 6 with AirPlay and Miracast support, as well.
