The Redmi Buds 8 Pro are now available to buy with minimal upgrades over the Redmi Buds 6 Pro. However, they also come with a reduction in battery life when compared to the previous generation.

Xiaomi's string of IoT products announced at MWC 2026 includes a new pair of earbuds under its Redmi subsidiary. The new Redmi Buds 8 Pro arrive as an affordable pair of earbuds with more premium features than the yet-to-be-announced Redmi Buds 8 Active and as a successor to the Redmi Buds 6 Pro.

Sporting a closed-ear design with silicone tips and a protruding stem, the Redmi Buds 8 Pro earbuds feature a triple driver system with a new acoustic architecture that offers more detailed sound. The earbuds have support for Dolby Audio, spatial sound with dynamic head tracking, and are certified for wireless Hi-Res audio with support for LDAC.

Two pairs of Redmi Buds 8 Pro can be connected to the same smartphone for Audio Sharing.

The Redmi Buds 8 Pro boast 55dB of adaptive active noise cancellation with a 20% improvement compared to the Buds 6 Pro. According to the spec sheet, the earbuds have a noise reduction depth of 20 - 5kHz whereas the previous generation maxed out at 4kHz. They also have an immersive mode that combines noise cancellation with noise reduction; this mode is said to be specifically tuned for environments such as when you are on a plane, train, or bus.

Each earbud has three microphones that work together with AI noise reduction for crystal-clear calls. The Redmi Buds 8 Pro also have Bluetooth 5.4, Google Fast Pair support, and Bluetooth 5.4, and can be connected to two devices simultaneously. There's also support for audio sharing (exclusive to select Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices), so two pairs of the earbuds can be connected to the same device at the same time.

The Redmi Buds 8 Pro are available in three colors.

The Redmi Buds 8 Pro are rated IP54 for dust and water resistance. They have a battery life of 8 hours of use and a total of 33 hours with the charging case which is a downgrade compared to the 9.5 hours (total of 36 hours) of usage of the Redmi Buds 6 Pro. When the earbuds are low on battery, a short 5-minute charge will provide up to 2 hours of use. The charging case has a light strip that indicates the battery level and charges via a USB-C port.

With a price tag of €69.99, the Xiaomi Redmi Buds 8 Pro come in in Obsidian Black, Glacier Blue, and Cloud White and are available to buy now on Amazon.de. Buyers also get 2 free months of Spotify Premium with their purchase of the earbuds, although Xiaomi adds that this offer is only valid for new Spotify Premium members and excludes those in Indonesia, India, and the United Arab Emirates. The offer also has to be redeemed before 11:59 PM on August 8, 2026.
