Reviews for the Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro
This year's Poco phone once again offers very competitive hardware specifications, including the very bright, color-accurate AMOLED display, for a cheap price. We measured a brightness of above 1080 nits from the mid-range phone. Our review will show whether the cheap 5G smartphone is worth the asking price of 440 Euros (~$516).

Xiaomi’s Poco F2 Pro is one of the best affordable flagship smartphones. A cracking spec sheet, good quality display, a decent camera, and great battery life are all wrapped up in an appealing metal and glass shell. There are some obvious compromises, like the “normal” 60Hz refresh rate, the missing telephoto camera, and the lack of wireless charging. However, for the target market — and in the context of the competition — these things don’t matter as much on a $499 phone. Xiaomi cut the correct corners to get the price-to-performance ratio just right with the F2 Pro.

While the Poco F2 Pro falls flat in a few key areas, it does enough in the right places to warrant consideration. But the competition may be a bit too stuff for this phone to overcome and stand atop the mountain.

The Poco F2 Pro is an outstanding performer all-round, but its main issue is that it feels... just like it was made to hit a price point. There's no 'soul,' no bells, no whistles, nothing that stands out. This also works the other way - nothing stands out in a bad way, either. You're getting exactly what the spec sheet implies you're getting-nothing more, nothing less. And for under €400, that may be precisely what a lot of people need.

The Poco F2 Pro offers a notable step up in quality from the beloved Pocophone F1, with a more premium (if hefty) design and an ostensibly more advanced camera added to a high-quality processor.

The POCO F2 Pro offers everything you're looking for in a phone. It has a gorgeous metal-and-glass design, is powered by the Snapdragon 865, and there's even a pop-up camera slider that leads to an all-screen display. The 4700mAh battery delivers outstanding battery life, you get a 3.5mm jack, and the value on offer here is incredible.

The Poco F2 Pro from Xiaomi is a good mid-ranged phone with a variety of strengths yet a low price tag. Its screen looks bold, its cameras take pretty good-looking photos and its processing power is some of the best we've seen in a smartphone. It isn't for everyone, especially if you've got the money to spend on a top-end phone, but it's definitely one worth considering if it's in your price range.

Well… I mean, if you want the best specs and insists on getting a smartphone with a Snapdragon 865 today, then the Poco F2 Pro is definitely the phone to get. It’s the most affordable smartphone with Snapdragon 865 and it can take fantastic macro photos too.

What I know for sure is that the POCO F2 Pro put my apprehensions about the front-facing pop-up camera to rest. The bright, colorful display and the supporting cameras satisfy your basic smartphone needs. It exudes the vibe of a premium smartphone that is quite affordable. Apart from the Neon Blue review unit that we received, the colors on the phone include Phantom White, Electric Purple, and Cyber Gray. The pricing structure for the POCO F2 is approximately £422 (GBP), €470 (Euro), and $450 (USD). Do check for USA carrier compatibility before you buy your unit.

The Poco F2 Pro jumps into a very crowded mid-range market, but has enough going for it to make it worthy of your consideration – it's particularly impressive when it comes to performance, the 6.67-inch display, and battery life, and the rear camera isn't bad either.

The POCO F2 Pro is a fine device, with an extremely bright, colorful display and a decent set of cameras. This smartphone feels like a premium smartphone that’s sold at a price that suggests much less. If you’re able to get the phone for the prices with which it was launched – or lower – you’ll have gotten yourself a deal.

Commenting on the release of POCO F2 Pro, Nicolas Shi, Country Manager of Malaysia and Singapore at Xiaomi said, “We’re extremely excited to announce the arrival of the POCO F2 Pro in Singapore, our flagship killer that has become a fan favourite. The new powerhouse will be available at an irresistible price tag, echoing our mission to make amazing products available to everyone at honest pricing.”

Unfortunately, I think smartphone users fall under two camps: hardware people and software people. There are shades in between and I fall under the latter of needing software to be a much larger proportion of my experience pie.

Sure, you do give up on some niceties you would expect from a full blown flagship. There’s no wireless charging here, the popup camera means no ingress protection, it feels rather hefty with a top-heavy bias and the screen runs at just 60 Hz, instead of the high refresh rate screens that many other flagships tout. But, for the money you pay, you get a flagship killer that’s priced significantly less than the regular flagships, with most of the key features here. Fans of the original POCO F1 will remind you that the POCO F2 Pro costs nearly double the first one. Well, you are really paying for a much more premium device this time around, and I see no problem in that.

Enter the Poco F2 Pro, an ambitious flagship that is more than superb value for money. It is the perfect embodiment of sensible function over form. The Poco F2 Pro doesn’t pride itself in posh design or gimmicky features. It consistently delivers in every key aspect: it’s a 5G-ready phone with excellent battery life, surprisingly good camera, and superb performance. Is it a flagship killer? Is it better than, say, Galaxy S20 Ultra or a OnePlus 8 Pro? Depending on your budget, it very well might be!

While the higher price of the POCO F2 Pro is a little off-putting at first glance compared to the original POCOPHONE F1, you’re still getting plenty of bang for your buck all things considered. The display is bigger and better than ever, and the phone no longer feels like a cheap slab of plastic. The POCO F2 Pro is a flagship through and through and might be the new flagship killer on the block.

The Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro feels like the kind of phone OnePlus would put out, with high specs but only a mid-range price tag, and it seems like a pretty premium phone in a few ways, although there are clear signs that it isn’t, including the flat screen and lack of zoom camera. All in all we were fairly impressed by our first experiences with the Poco F2 Pro, though we’ll have to test it further to be sure.

We gave the Pocophone F1 the title of the best bang-for-the-buck phone back in 2018 because the phone managed to do everything right: it had an attractive design, a powerful set of cameras, top-tier flagship processor and most importantly, a ridiculously low price tag.

When Poco introduced the F1 back in 2018, it turned a lot of heads — sure it wasn't a completely premium device on the outside, but it had all of the trappings of a flagship phone at the time on the inside. Now, Poco is back with a slightly different strategy: put their brand on an existing sibling brand device. Even if the coat of paint looks and even feels very familiar, the company might be looking at a hit with a phone they are actually labeling a flagship killer. This is Pocketnow and I'm Joshua Vergara, what's going on, everybody? This is the Poco F2 Pro.
