The Xiaomi Mi 10S will be officially unveiled on March 10 and the Snapdragon 870-powered smartphone is already impressing, specifically with its audio output. DXOMARK has managed to put the new device through its battery of audio tests to see how well the Mi 10S could perform, and it appears it performed admirably. The Xiaomi Mi 10S was awarded 80 points overall, which meant it outscored the Asus ROG Phone 5 that now sits in second place on 79 points.
The Xiaomi Mi 10S received record marks in both playback and recording: 80 points in each vs. 78 and 79, respectively, for the Asus ROG Phone 5. While DXOMARK didn’t go too much into detail at this point, as the Mi 10S hasn’t even been officially released yet, there was mention of the “industry’s largest 0.7 mm speaker amplitude” and a high score of 89 points for volume. The Mi 10S joins the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro as smartphones from the Chinese OEM that have outscored every device from Apple and Samsung so far in terms of the site's audio testing.
It’s expected the Xiaomi Mi 10S is going to be for buyers in China only, with the likely 6.67-inch AMOLED-sporting smartphone featuring the aforementioned Snapdragon 870 chipset, 90 Hz refresh rate, 20 MP selfie camera, and a 108 MP sensor-headed rear camera setup with a housing design that is reminiscent of the one used for the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra. The US audio specialist Harman Kardon (which is actually a Samsung subsidiary) has been on hand to make sure the Mi 10S would impress owners with its audio features, which should go along well with its decent camera specs and powerful processor.
