Xiaomi 14: Rumored global launch date of the new Leica camera flagship is way too late

This year, Qualcomm and its smartphone partners announced the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 generation much earlier than usual. Instead of the typical end-of-year China launch events in recent years or the end of November last year, Xiaomi enticed its Chinese fans with the jump to the next Leica camera flagship series at the end of October 2023 already, specifically on October 26, 2023.
Anyone outside China who had naively thought that this might also lead to an earlier global Xiaomi 14 launch is probably mistaken though. Although there is still no official information from Xiaomi about the international launch date, according to Yogesh Brar, a well-known Indian leaker, the global and Indian launch will not be brought forward in 2024. Same as 2023, Xiaomi is apparently planning a launch as part of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain which starts next year on February 26, 2024.
Xiaomi 14 Global launch (including India) planned for MWC.

Probable date: 27th Feb 2024
Xiaomi should take a leaf out of Nubia's book!
According to Yogesh, February 27 is likely, but the Sunday before seems possible as well, as large companies like to hold their MWC press conferences before the official start of the trade fair. Nevertheless, the MWC launch is very late and disappointing. In this globalized world, two to a maximum of three months between the China launch and the international launch already seem like an eternity, four months hardly makes any sense, after all that's one third of the usual product release cycle.
So while Xiaomi branches all over the world (have to) continue to pretend that the Xiaomi 13 Pro or Xiaomi 13 Ultra still have the best Leica camera in any smartphone, the rest of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 world is outrunning the Chinese frontrunner. Samsung will not be the only company to launch their Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phones - the Galaxy S24 series - in mid-January already, Asus is also launching the ROG Phone 8 at the beginning of next year at CES. In my opinion, however, the outsider Nubia has drawn the right conclusion: Their Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship Nubia Z60 Ultra was launched practically simultaneously in China and internationally, the "gaming-version" RedMagic 9 Pro will also be available shortly. Xiaomi should take a leaf out of their book and bring the global Xiaomi 14 launch forward as well!
