Xbox Game Pass members can play these four games for free this weekend

If you’re an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you’ve got something extra to enjoy this weekend. Microsoft has announced four games that you can play for free right now as part of the Free Play Days program. Unlike games that get added to the Game Pass library permanently, these titles won’t stay in your collection. Instead, you can play them for free only until tomorrow, January 25, so it’s a limited-time chance to try them out.

Four free games for this weekend 

The four games available this weekend are Sherlock Holmes Chapter One, South Park: Snow Day, This War of Mine: Final Cut, and Cult of the Lamb. All four are available for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential members. 

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One lets you play as a much younger version of the famous detective, before he became a legend. The game takes place on a Mediterranean island where Sherlock returns to investigate the mysterious death of his mother. You explore the city, gather clues, question suspects, and solve cases.

South Park: Snow Day is a very different experience. You play as the New Kid and team up with Cartman, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny. This time, the focus is on a snow day that turns into a full-blown adventure. The game supports up to four-player co-op, letting you fight through snowy streets and enemies while enjoying the series’ humor in a fully 3D setting. 

This War of Mine: Final Cut offers a much heavier and more emotional experience. Instead of playing as soldiers, you control civilians trying to survive in a city under siege. You’ll need to manage food, medicine, and shelter while making tough moral decisions. Final Cut includes all updates and expansions, making it the most complete version of the game. 

Finally, we have Cult of the Lamb, which blends cute visuals with dark themes. You start a cult, recruit followers, and build a settlement while also heading into dangerous dungeons to fight enemies. The game mixes base-building, action combat, and roguelike elements. 

The good news is that all four games are currently available at discounted prices. So once the free weekend ends, you can continue playing by picking them up for less.
