Microsoft recently confirmed the Xbox Game Pass lineup for January 2026, and it already included some big additions such as Star Wars Outlaws and Resident Evil Village. Now, Xbox has revealed another surprise for subscribers, confirming that a highly anticipated new title is set to arrive on Game Pass next week as a day-one release.
On X, the official Xbox Game Pass account confirmed that Quarantine Zone: The Last Check will be available on Game Pass starting Monday. The game officially launches on January 12, and Game Pass members will be able to play it on day one. However, this release is limited to PC players only, as the game is not launching on consoles. It will be available exclusively to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, since that tier includes access to day-one releases.
As for what the game offers, Quarantine Zone: The Last Check puts players in charge of a high-stakes checkpoint during a zombie outbreak. Your main job is to inspect survivors trying to enter the safe zone and decide who gets through and who does not. Using advanced scanning tools and your own judgment, you must spot signs of infection, uncover hidden contraband, and make tough calls under pressure.
Beyond screening survivors, the game also focuses heavily on management. You’ll need to handle limited resources like food, medicine, and power while reinforcing defenses as the situation grows worse each day. When things go out of control, you can deploy armed drones to stop infected threats from breaking into the compound. As your base grows, you unlock better tools, upgrades, and new ways to survive.
A demo for Quarantine Zone: The Last Check is already available on Steam. It has been well received so far, with over 1,400 reviews and 87% of them being positive, suggesting the full release could be a strong addition to Game Pass.
