After recent price hikes sparked frustration among subscribers, Microsoft now needs to rebuild some goodwill. With two promising titles launching straight into Xbox Game Pass next week, the company is off to a solid start. Several other games are joining the lineup as well, and select titles from the Ultimate tier will soon be available through the more affordable Premium plan.
BALL x PIT
BALL × PIT is an action roguelite with brick-breaker mechanics, developed solo by Kenny Sun and published by Devolver Digital. Set in the ruined city of Ballbylon, the game follows daring adventurers who descend into a massive, seemingly endless pit in search of treasures and resources.
The gameplay combines classic brick-breaker action – where balls ricochet off surfaces to hit enemies – with roguelite progression. What sets it apart are the 60 unique projectile types, or “balls,” that add depth and variety to each run. The goal is to descend deeper into the so-called “pit,” gathering resources and upgrading your gear along the way. Between runs, you can improve your character and expand your base. BALL × PIT launches on October 15 and will be available on day one through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
Keeper
Keeper is a puzzle adventure published by Xbox Game Studios and developed by Double Fine Productions in collaboration with veteran designer Lee Petty. It promises a truly distinctive experience: you play as a lighthouse brought to life through an unexpected fusion with climbing vines. Guided by a mystical seabird, you’ll explore a surreal world and solve environmental puzzles using tools such as your lighthouse’s beam of light. The story unfolds entirely without dialogue, relying solely on visuals and atmosphere. Keeper launches on October 17 and will be available through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
