Weber reveals new smart grills which can notify you when your food is cooked
Weber, the outdoor grill manufacturer, has revealed new smart grills. The grills are all variants on the existing Genesis grill, with the company billing these new products as its "biggest gas grilling innovation in 15 years".
The grills use Weber Connect smart technology and a linked app to assist you when cooking. Weber claims the gadget lets you monitor your food in real-time, with features like temperature alerts, flip and serve notifications.
The grill comes with a built-in temperature probe which you can use to keep an eye on the heat of your food. According to Weber, the Genesis has the largest and hottest sear zone of its products, thanks to its proprietary Pureblu high-heat burners.
The app also contains recipe suggestions and cooking programmes, with suggested cooking times. Plus, it will notify you when your grill is running low on fuel. The device also comes with Night Vision grill lighting to ensure the grill surface and dials are visible if you’re cooking in the evening.
Like its predecessors, the Genesis smart grill comes with a “prep and serve area” to the side of the grill, hooks for cooking utensils and a storage locker. Weber says that this grill is excellent for cooking various foods, from burgers and steak to pizzas and stir fry.
The Weber Genesis smart grills will be available in Spring 2022, with prices starting at US$869 (~€766). Weber Connect technology is already available in the Smart Grilling Hub, which you can use with your existing grill.
