Vivo is not expected to replace its X200 Ultra flagship for a while yet. Nonetheless, popular Weibo Smart Pikachu has offered up new details about Vivo's next Ultra-branded flagship ahead of time. Tentatively, leakers are referring to the device as the X300 Ultra after the recent releases of the X300 and X300 Pro.
Reiterating earlier rumours, Smart Pikachu writes that Vivo is striving for a Q1 2026 launch to rival the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Samsung's expected replacement for the Galaxy S25 Ultra (curr. $899 on Amazon). For context, Digital Chat Station claimed last week that Vivo hoped to have the X300 Ultra out the door in March, less than a year after it released the X200 Ultra in China. Unfortunately, neither leaker has shared any specifics yet, although a global launch is rumoured too.
Instead, Smart Pikachu has hinted that Vivo will introduce a significant battery upgrade over the X200 Ultra. For reference, Vivo sells the X200 Ultra in all markets with a 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery. By contrast, the X300 and X300 Pro feature 6,040 mAh and 6,510 mAh capacities, respectively, in all but Europe.
Reportedly, the X300 Ultra will surpass all three smartphones with a circa 7,000 mAh battery. It remains to be seen whether the device will get close to the 7,500 mAh capacity found in the Oppo Find X9 Pro, though. Currently, Vivo is expected to complement this new battery technology with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and camera hardware that could combine a 35 mm primary lens with Sony's new Lytia 901 sensor.
