ViewSonic X2: Short-throw monitor lands in Europe and the US offering 3,100 LED Lumens peak brightness
ViewSonic has started selling the X2 in Europe and the US, a short-throw projector that outputs at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. Revealed earlier this month alongside the X1 in the US, the X2 has a 0.69-0.83 throw ratio and offers up to 3,100 LED Lumens of peak brightness. In comparison, the X1 has been orderable since late May in some markets.
A DLP and LED projector, the ViewSonic X2 should last up to 30,000 hours of normal use before its light source needs replacing. Additionally, ViewSonic claims that the projector can create between 60-120-inch projections when placed 1.5-3.0 metres from a wall or a surface. Incidentally, the projector offers +/- 40º vertical and horizontal keystone correction, plus 1.2x optical zoom.
Separately, ViewSonic equips the X2 with single USB 2.0 Type-A, USB Type-C, 3.5 mm audio out, 3.5 mm audio in, RCA in and RS232 ports, along with a modem capable of Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi 5 connectivity. Also, the ViewSonic X2 has two HDMI 2.0 ports and dual 6 W speakers. Currently, ViewSonic sells the X2 in the US for US$1,175.99. Alternatively, the projector can be ordered in the Eurozone for €1,359, including VAT.
