Up to 500 Hz: AOC intros new affordable gaming monitor with triple-mode functionality for fast-paced gaming

Gaming monitors are undoubtedly one of the most crucial components of a gaming setup. Apart from the obvious, picking the right monitor with an appropriate combination of refresh rate, resolution, and of course, price, can be quite a challenging task.

Dual and triple-mode monitors make this process a whole lot easier, such as the new AOC Agon CQ32G4ZA. Like other monitors in its category, this 32-inch gaming monitor can also switch between various refresh rate-resolution combos to provide an optimal experience.

To be more specific, the monitor can switch between 260 Hz, 360 Hz, and a whopping 500 Hz at 1440p, 1080p, and 720p respectively. While 720p at 32-inches sounds abominable, gamers who desire nothing but ludicrously high refresh rates should be able to look past any flaws in visuals.

Fast VA panel for good contrast, up to 450 nits of brightness

Being a Fast VA 10-bit panel, contrast ratios should be much better than monitors with IPS panels. AOC claims an impressive number of 4000:1 for this Agon gaming monitor, as well as an impressive 95.5% coverage of the P3 color gamut. Peak brightness is reported around 450 nits, which should be enough for usage in environments with controlled lighting. Response times appear to be 1 ms and 0.3 ms in GtG and MPRT respectively.

Needless to say, an OLED panel would have massively helped with color reproduction, contrast, and response times. However, it is clear that this gaming monitor is aimed at folks who care about speed more than anything else. Moreover, considering the Agon CQ32G4ZA's affordable pricing, the VA option feels more than fair given the rest of its feature set.
