Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has published a press release announcing the new video game Lego The Incredibles. An official announcement trailer, featuring the Parr family, Frozone and Edna Mode, has also been released. The game will be made available for the PC, Nintendo Switch, PS 4 and Xbox One in North America on June 15 – the same day that the Incredibles 2 movie is scheduled for release.

It’s been a long time coming but finally there is a sequel to the 2004 smash-hit movie The Incredibles. The Pixar classic grossed over US$630 million at the global box office and received extremely positive reviews. Now there is a sequel on its way, and it will be accompanied by a Lego movie tie-in video game.

The game is being developed by UK-based TT Games, along with input provided by Warner Bros., Disney, Pixar and The Lego Group. The British video-game company’s subsidiary, Traveller’s Tales, has been involved with Lego-licensed titles since 2005’s Lego Star Wars: The Video Game and has forged an impressive track record with the movie tie-in products.

The short announcement trailer doesn’t give too much away in terms of gameplay, but the press release states:

The game encourages players to work together by combining the Parr family’s abilities and unique powers to conquer crime and family life in a LEGO world full of fun and humor.

In an interview with IGN, TT Games executive producer Nick Ricks said the game features an open-world hub where players need to utilize teamwork to defeat numerous crime bosses in the main campaign, while there are plenty of fun side quests to be completed.

Lego The Incredibles will be based on both films in the series and will be available on June 15 in North America and on July 13 in Europe.
